Boy oh boy is this a good one or what. The top two scoring teams meet again. I say again, because their previous matchup resulted in 1,350 + points. However, the Champs, ended up with a stellar 712.5 points. The other side of the boxscore put up 626.
The 2-start pitchers for this week leans in the favor of the Sox, 3-1.
The Sox send the kids, John Smoltz and Kevin Millwood to the bump twice. As well as the elderly one, Gavin Floyd. (being as it's Tuesday morning)Smoltz didn't pitch too well in his first start; however, Millwood VSd him. So, he benefited from Smoltzy's struggles. Floyd was fantastic, tallying 36 points. Can Millwood and Floyd repeat on Saturday? Will Smoltz rebound on saturday? That remains to be seen, but, I like all of their chances of, at the minimum, doing well enough for QS's.
The Champs lone 2-start starter this week is Jeff Nieman. You know what's ironic? Tuesday he goes up against the White Sox. So, which ever way the game ends, it should be a big big impact on the whole matchup; maybe the Sox's Sox(does that make sense?) like Konerko, and Thome, hit dingers. Perhaps, Neimann goes nuts and K's 11 with 8 shutout innings...
Taking a look at the lineup is always fun, well for everyone not VSing the Rays. It's just dangerous. Hanley(grr), Miguel, Crawford, Bay, Granderson, Adam Jones, etc etc, the names just keep going. Any given night one of these guys can put up 20 points easily, and notch 50 in a week, game changers. On the other hand, the Sox have a very good lineup as well, it's what has helped them tally the 2nd most points in the league. Dave Kingman's long lost son Adam Dunn anchors it the best he can. Then the underated fellas like Dye and Konerko provide great production. Grandpa Thome isn't more than a few games removed from 2 homers, and a career high(surprise surprise for the future HOF) 7 RBI. I've also yet to name Lance Berkman, the Riot, and Freddy Sanchez.
To conclude the epic matchup, I don't think we will be seeing 1350 points again, put you can certainly bet on seeing 1150. Neither team has that many 2-start pitchers, IMO, to tally up 700 +. I can see the White Sox winning it with a final of: 590-575. It will come down to Sunday, and Brandon's lineup will just pull it out.
Review to come out Monday morning.

agreed on kingman lol. you got the winner right! But, you were 10 points short on the winner's score. I am getting my 5th straight 600. In all seriousness. I would rather lose this one and win in the playoffs. But, since the yanks and other sox have gotten hot i probably need to win this one to stay on track to make the playoffs.

AuthorYou all know me, Phil Urban, owner of the Marlins in the MLB league. As well as the Eagles in both NFL leagues. I'm the youngest of the group, and perhaps the only one unable to go buy a beer at the bar. But, that doesn't stop me from whoopin' you all in fantasy ;). Archives
