Gone are the days of Cal Ripken Jr. and A Rod switching positions to show respect to an elder statesman. Gone are the days of playful ribbing when a young center fielder robs the most powerful hitter of a generation, as in Torri Hunter and Barry Bonds. Now all we have to look forward to are times of managers caring a little too much about what should be a game that has no meaning except bragging rights. Yes, I am refering to the All-Star game, a game that I remember looking forward to every year as a kid to see my favorite players all on one field showing their prowess in hitting, fielding, and pitching. I hope the ridiculousness of the home-field advantage commissioner Bud Selig implemented in 2003 goes the way of the Dodo bird because really the fans deserve for the game to just be fun, we have 162 regular season games and the playoffs to matter, not the one game that should just be for ALL teams to show off, to show the greatness of their team whether their team is all that great or not. Just let them play the game Bud, just let them play the game.Jonathan Brimer
